Compression / Stress-strain (Tinius Olsen)

Tension testing involves applying force to a sample and measuring the displacement of the moving "cross head" as the sample stretches. Through plotting the cross head's position against the force being applied, various material properties can be determined like tensile strength and yield strength. It can also be used to simply determine the failure point/load of a design.
