5-axis mill (DMG Mori DMU75, Haas UMC 500)

The 5-axis process combines traditional XYZ coordinate movement with a table that rotates and swivels. The technology allows machining on multiple faces with reduced setup and changeover that improves quality and allows faster, tight tolerance machining.

Process Name

5-Axis Universal Machining Center

Applications

Complex, multifeatured and tight tolerance parts with curved surfaces can be machined with 5-Axis. High quality and lower costs can be achieved by set up reduction

Advantages

Reduced set ups, and cycle times; higher quality and increaed precision; reduced work holding costs; One machine can do multiple operations

Limitations

This machine is over qualified for basic machining parts where we would use our 3-Axis Haas CNC Mills and Lathes
