Volume Graphics allows for the analysis of CT scan data. Scans can be moved and sliced through, pores can be highlighted, materials of varying densities can be separated and isolated, and surface meshes can be created from scan data

Advantages

Allows for the inspection of expensive/rare parts without the need to damage or destroy them, and for the detection of otherwise invisible defects.

Limitations

Advanced inspection techniques can be time consuming and costly.
